The owner's retreat villa

This is an extremely private and secluded Villa that was fully renovated for the owner’s personal use and is ideal for those looking for a tranquil country retreat. It is set within the heart of the farm at Claremont Country Estate, is surrounded by open farmland and has expansive views to the mountains beyond. It is one of two distinctive farm cottages on the property. This Villa is suited to two to four adults traveling together or for those families with up to two mature children. The Claremont Family Cottage is better suited to those with children under 14yrs.

The spacious 166 sq m accommodation comprises a triple aspect open-plan living room/ dining room / kitchen and has a varnished Rimu floor with rich oriental rugs. There are two leather 3-seater settees, an oak Refectory farmhouse dining table, a Jet-master open gas fire, flat screen TV/ DVD and sophisticated Hi-Fi entertainment system. There is a direct dial phone with free local calls.

The master bedroom has a king bed, his and her wardrobes, flat-screen TV and sophisticated Hi-Fi system. There is a spacious en-suite bathroom with under-floor heating, twin walk-in showers and a 2-person spa bath, theatrical lighting, de-mist mirrors, on-demand hot water, heated towel rails. The second bedroom is smaller with twin 3ft wide king-single beds and a private bathroom with a stall shower.

This Villa has a modern kitchen with electric ceramic hob, oven, microwave and dishwasher that is fully equipped for self-catering and there is a separate laundry with a washing machine and drier. Features include full double glazing, full insulation, fully air-conditioning, or centrally heating with reverse cycle cooling/heating available in the open plan living/dining/kitchen area and in both bedrooms.

Guests have access to numerous walks on the private 2,400 acre Estate and Nature Reserve and they may swim in our natural rock swimming pool at the spectacular Waipara gorge and take an interest in the daily activities of a NZ livestock farm. Guests also have access to our lodge facilities, including free high speed internet access, Wi-Fi, an all-weather hard tennis court, badminton, croquet and our garden spa pool.

The tariff is B&B with breakfast provided within the accommodation which is serviced daily. A supper platter for two and a bottle of Waipara wine provided in your accommodation is also available by prior arrangement. Alternatively, a Claremont 3-course dinner is available at the Nearby Nor’wester restaurant or dine al carte at a choice of several cafes and restaurants.
