Claremont is an 1866 historic homestead, built of hand-cut limestone, set in lovely mature grounds beside the Waipara River operates as a Luxury Lodge offering exclusive B&B accommodation and is also available for functions and weddings.

You can have your ceremony either off-site and simply stay here on your wedding night or be married in our beautiful gardens and hold your reception here provided you book Claremont for “exclusive use” of the property by booking all the Lodge accommodation.

The choice of catering options is left to your discretion and taste, using the services of catering professionals. We offer our preferred and nominated caterer for small wedding receptions of up to around 30 people. Larger wedding groups generally require a marquee and then you will need to select and engage your own professional caterer as well as all other suppliers.

We work closely with an established and reputable Christchurch based Wedding Planner, Emma Newman. She will work with you to facilitate all aspects of your special day and can be hired by you independently as an optional extra for the smaller weddings. For larger marquee weddings there are many details to be accommodated and it is a formal requirement to engage Emma as your wedding planner.

General Options for Garden Weddings

INTIMATE WEDDING VENUE FOR A COUPLE INCLUDING ACCOMMODATION
For those couples seeking an intimate wedding ceremony without a reception but looking for superb venue and romantic wedding night accommodation

SMALL WEDDINGS WITH ON-SITE FORMAL RECEPTION & ACCOMMODATION
From 11 am to 11.00 pm only (suppliers are allowed on site before this in consultation with Claremont)

• Wedding ceremony, photography with drinks and canapés served in our garden setting followed by a formal reception for up to 28-32 people held in our conservatory dining room and verandah.
• Catering is arranged by our nominated caterer. The Caterer will use our kitchen facilities and you will liaise directly with the caterer. We will then quote you for your exact dining requirements.
• Accommodation is a minimum of 4-lodge suites. This can be combined with the optional use of either the 3-bedroom Claremont Family Cottage and/or the 2-bedroom Owners Retreat Villa.

LARGER WEDDINGS WITH ON-SITE FORMAL RECEPTION, MARQUEE, SUB-CONTRACT CATERING WITH ACCOMMODATION
From Noon to 11.00 pm only (suppliers are allowed on site before this by prior arrangement with Claremont)

• Wedding ceremony, photography with drinks and canapés served in our garden setting followed by a formal reception held in a marquee on-site.
• Emma Newman Wedding www.enweddings.co.nz must be engaged in order to confirm all suppliers and details for this style of wedding
• All suppliers are arranged by you and no facilities in the Homestead are to be used for the reception. We will provide power and water but your caterer must provide a mobile kitchen. You will liaise directly with the caterer who will quote you directly for your requirements. You would also need to hire in the required toilet facilities.
• Accommodation is a minimum of four lodge suites. This can be combined with the optional use of either the 3-bedroom Claremont Family Cottage and/or the 2-bedroom Owners Retreat Villa.
