Christchurch and Claremont - gateway to the South Island

Claremont Country Estate is just 45 minutes easy drive north of Christchurch airport. Self-drive is recommended but transfer by chauffeur-driven limousine or shuttle-bus can be arranged.

Claremont also has a helipad adjacent to the lodge and helicopter transfers from Christchurch airport take around 15 minutes! Nearby, we have a 700 metre grass strip suitable for light aircraft.

From the USA or Europe
Christchurch is the gateway to New Zealand’s spectacular South Island with direct flights by Air New Zealand, Singapore Airlines and Emirates. Alternatively, there is a wide choice of airlines using Auckland as a gateway with onward connections to Christchurch.

Most of the direct international flights arrive in the morning. You can drive directly to Claremont where, by prior arrangement, we will arrange an early check-in and a light luncheon. Alternatively, you can be met at Christchurch Airport for a personal tailor-made half-day guided city tour of Christchurch including lunch before proceeding to Claremont.

From Australia
Air New Zealand, Qantas, Jetstar, Virgin and Freedom Air all fly into Christchurch. Many of these flights arrive at night so you may prefer to overnight in Christchurch and come on to Claremont the following day.
