Claremont Country Estate has been previously nominated twice in the 2007 and 2009 World Travel Awards as NZ’s Leading Luxury Lodge and Australasia’s Leading Boutique Resort and now again in 2010.

Hailed by the Wall Street Journal as the "Travel industry's equivalent to the Oscar's", the World Travel Awards are the most comprehensive and most prestigious awards program in the global travel industry. World Travel Awards was established in 1993 to acknowledge and celebrate excellence in the world's travel and tourism industry. With thousands of votes cast by travel professionals from 167,000 travel agencies in over 160 countries across the globe, winning a World Travel Award has become one of the highest accolades a travel product can receive.

Nomination are based on the previous year's voting and recommendations made by travel, tourism & hospitality industry professionals. All the nominations can now be viewed on the World Travel website, and are also publicized through the online daily publication Breaking Travel News.

Andrew Harper is America’s best known travel writer and for 30 years has been publishing the prestigious Andrew Harper Hideaway Report circulated to discerning travelers by subscription only.
